Before Britton Janning, Founder of The Social Connection, graduated from St. Leo University in 2018, he began to consider the possibility of starting his own marketing agency. In college, he studied marketing and helped the city of Dade City establish their social media presence. While landing a great job in Tampa after college, Janning decided to take the next step and bring his own business to life. “I was pretty excited about starting my own business,” Janning said. “Based on my prior experience and my love for networking and making strong connections, I felt confident about my decision.”
According to Janning, The Social Connection is a marketing agency that specializes in website development, social media, and graphic/digital design. His goal is to help start-up companies, as well as small businesses, achieve their marketing goals.
“Whether your company needs assistance marketing your business on social media platforms, building a new website, or graphic/digital design, The Social Connection is here to help,” Janning said. “We want to help you engage with your target audience through as many mediums and platforms as possible. We are all about keeping your connections real and engaged.”
Janning continued, “Whether you are starting up a new business, or looking to expand your customer base, knowing where to start marketing your business and how to bring in new customers can feel overwhelming. What’s great about working with The Social Connection is the fact that we are an ‘all in one’ marketing solution, which means you never have to hassle with multiple companies for all of your print and online marketing. We work closely with you to visually create your business brand design for all of your printed and online marketing needs. No more juggling multiple marketing projects with different companies that are not all on the same page and in sync. We strive to help you build better relationships with your current customers and connect with millions of potential clients just waiting to be discovered.”
From logos, business cards and websites, to social media management and Facebook ads, The Social Connection truly is a ‘one-stop shop’ for businesses looking for an all-encompassing marketing strategy. In fact, Janning stressed the importance of this to allow his customers to focus on their core business and not on how to market it.
Throughout the process of starting his own business, Janning said getting started was the hardest part. However, as he shared, it’s important to just start – no matter how ready you
think you are.
“Back when I first started to think about the idea, I had so many thoughts running through my head,” he said. “How do I start? When do I start? Where do I start? At some point, I just got started and made changes as I went along. I also wasn’t afraid to ask others for help. As an entrepreneur, you need guidance and insightful perspectives from other people. This is where The Social Connection comes in; with so many marketing possibilities out there, it is important for The Social Connection to guide our clients to the possibilities and goals that they are trying to achieve.” Janning’s goals are to focus on his client’s goals by helping them succeed and grow within our ever-changing world of digital marketing.
For Janning, the smile on his client’s faces when they start building relationships with new customers and growing their business is what he enjoys most. He enjoys seeing other people find success and living out their entrepreneurial dreams. “I feel so honored to be a part of that,” he said. “I also enjoy building personal relationships with my clients as I watch their businesses succeed and grow over the years.”
What advice does Janning have for aspiring entrepreneurs? “Never give up on your dreams and remember to set goals for yourself,” he said. “It can become overwhelming when you look at the big picture, which is why you need to break it down into sections. This way you can chip away at your ‘mini goals’ and bring it down to a manageable perspective.”
Janning continued, “My last piece of advice is that it is okay to ask for help. When every entrepreneur starts out, the realization that you cannot do everything is okay. You need to surround yourself with people who are there to support you and help you through your journey. Networking with other entrepreneurs is a great way to gain more knowledge, as they may have insightful experiences you can benefit from. Always believe and invest in yourself, because you are worth it.”
