Christian Valderrama, Owner of VB Technologies, has always been dead set on doing his own thing. "I always wanted to freelance and get my own contracts, this way I could always be working on something new and something that I would actually enjoy," he said. While in college at Stetson University, he did some side jobs but he also developed a fitness app designed to track your workouts. Shortly following his graduation from Stetson University in December of 2016, he was invited to present his fitness app to 1 Million Cups Daytona Beach. "The fitness app didn't really go anywhere. I wasn't very good at marketing and was overly concerned about someone else taking the idea. However, after presenting my app that day at 1 Million Cups I was introduced to Michael Zaharios," he said. Michael liked what he saw in Christian and hired him to do some work on FLVEC.com. From that opportunity came others as Michael continued to recommend Christian based on his quality work, honesty, open communication and easy going nature. VB Technologies offers a variety of services for their clients, including website design and updates, database technologies, mobile apps, as well as coding in eleven different software languages. Christian loves the fact that programming is a challenge. "There is always something new to create or something to improve. Programming is always a challenge, but once you overcome that challenge it really makes you feel great," he said. According to Christian there are several areas that help to make VB Technologies unique. "Face to face communication is a big one. There are a lot of online options for hiring developers. Unfortunately this limits communication through email and an occasional phone call. There are times where I will sit down one-on-one with my client to discuss their needs." Christian explained that his clients appreciate the ability to interact with him in person. Christian's advice for other entrepreneurs? "Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it. Don't give up no matter how hard it gets. Be positive and optimistic and get rid of people that drag you down," he said. He also recommends reading 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Think and Grow Rich, The Obstacle is the Way and The Book Of Life.
