What is your company description and what makes your company unique?
How did you get into entrepreneurship?
I found photography and knew that was what I wanted to do. The passion for photography and the ambition I had to work for myself, pushed me into becoming an entrepreneur. I love that there is no limit to growing my business. I really enjoy cultivating relationships with each of my clients and that each time it is a new canvas to work with to use my creativity.
Why do you do what you do?
I grew up always drawn to photographs, not just family photographs, but also publications. What consistently captured my attention was the photograph between the bright yellow solid border on the covers of National Geographic. I started off as most photographers do - a hobbyist. For many years I dabbled in a bit of everything while raising our three boys and building my portfolio. About five years ago, I happened to cross paths in real estate photography. From that point on, I met my calling to specialize in Real Estate and Commercial/Business Branding Photography. Being in the real estate industry, I had many requests by realtors for aerial photography. This drove me to become a FAA Drone Pilot. When I realized that less than 6% of drone pilots were women at the time, it gave me all of the encouragement I needed. It was truly a rewarding feeling walking out of the aviation center with my mission accomplished.
What tools, resources or books have you used to start and/or grow your business?
I have found that being involved in your local community is one of the most important resources. I also get a lot of my inspiration from quotes. Much of my continued learning is through the endless resources that YouTube has to offer.
Why did you choose to locate your business in Florida?
I am born and raised a Native Floridian and understand the importance of community, along with economic growth and development. I utilize my photography talent to support businesses and professionals.
What advice do you have for other entrepreneurs?
There were without a doubt times that the road was not always a refined path. Life experiences gave me effective techniques and a distinct work ethic and grind, which cultivated a particular set of standards that I hold myself and quality of work to. It is critical to recognize that there is not only one right way when you are constructing your path. Sometimes there can be detours, however, in the end, experiences usually come full circle, giving you the tools that are needed to move to the next step. I have found it to be necessary to surround myself with others who hold the bar high for themselves, which in return pushes me to be a better version of myself. Mindset is everything; know there are no limits. Always remember that most barriers are self created, and unnecessary.
How can other entrepreneurs help you?
A supporting community is important for everyone to grow and advance. Developing relationships with other entrepreneurs is very important with all of our growth. Being able to provide each other with resources, ideas or connections are all priceless tools.
