George Bosse, founder of Lighthouse Aircraft Detailing, was so skilled at aircraft detailing that his co-workers suggested he start his own company.
"It's intimidating when you're a parent of three kids and have the responsibility to ensure income is there to support the family," he said. " I didn't know if I could match my income and I knew other companies were out there doing the same thing. Fortunately, a lot of the operators and pilots who I knew from my previous position contacted me to take care of their aircraft."
Lighthouse Aircraft Detailing cleans both the interior and exterior of corporate and private aircraft for general upkeep and also after maintenance or painting.
"We go above and beyond to make our customers happy," Bosse explained. "My experience prior to starting Lighthouse taught me so much about the aircraft itself that when we clean an airplane we're looking at every square inch so we can let the pilot know if we see a potential problem. Our clients love that because it shows that we care about how their aircraft looks and we look out for their safety. I take a lot of pride in what I do."
Bosse's advice for aspiring entrepreneurs is to follow your passion. "You have to have the desire," he said. "If you don't have the heart, you won't get anywhere. You have to have the passion behind it."
