Gray Mabry, co-founder of iVenture, which was recently named one of GrowFL's Companies To Watch for 2016, believes business success starts with company culture and the team. "I'm a big believer that employee happiness is where a great company starts," he said. "My focus has always been on finding employees who value the culture of iVenture because when staff is happy and the culture is strong, everything falls into place."
iVenture's focus on employee satisfaction has returned dividends in the form of regular appearances on lists of the best places to work and a growing business. IVenture is in the business of helping small to medium sized businesses more effectively use and support technology through a combination of a strong strategic IT plan, IT support structure and a built-in set of security features. "Our focus on assisting clients develop strong strategic IT plans is one of our most valuable differentiators because for most companies it's an afterthought, but if you have IT without strategy, you have chaos," Mabry said. "Our focus on that first, not after the fact, is important."
Mabry's advice to aspiring entrepreneurs centers on sacrifice. "Sacrifice is the first thing," he said. "You make a lot of decisions for the better of your employees and clients and you come last. You are engaged in a service to others. It is both a humbling and rewarding experience to help your clients and staff achieve their goals."
