Patricia Christensen, Maureen Saltzer & Jeannette Weiss, co-founders of Solutions Partnership, are independent consultants who joined forces to work on a political campaign. That experience showed them the value they could add working as a team, resulting in them forming a new company to do just that.
"I was an elected official for more than 14 years and learned a lot about government at the time including how to campaign," said Christensen. "In fact, I won every campaign I entered. When I left public office, several people asked if I could work on their campaign. In turn, I asked Jeannette and Maureen to work with me. It started with some work in the 2014 elections, and since then we've expanded into other fields."
Solutions Partnership provides consulting services to businesses throughout Florida's Treasure Coast in the fields of communications, marketing, event management, social media, public relations and public affairs in addition to political campaign management for state and local races.
"There are a number of firms that do what we do and we notice that sometimes, as a prospective client, you meet with the principals of the firm initially, but once you come onboard as a client, a junior rep will handle your business," Saltzer explained. "And while the senior partner plays a part, most of the work is done by the junior associate who may not be as skilled. When you work with us, the person who is most experienced with the task you need help with will work with you."
These successful entrepreneurs have a wide range of experience but don't discount the value of seeking assistance to help with business growth.
"Work with your Small Business Development Center or SCORE consultant to make sure you get a well thought out marketing and business plan," Weiss said. "They can help you with so many topics, as can we. Don't cut corners. Make sure you have all your appropriate bonds and licenses and hire a tax professional so you're financially sound and can back up everything you do."
