Unique Palms Development

What is your company description and what makes your company unique?

Unique Palms Development is a single-family home builder constructing and building some of the finest South Florida homes at an affordable cost. We look to development on vacant lots and old dilapidated homes that welcome a refresh with a knockdown and development of new modern homes that all have a unique DNA, interior, and exterior at a fair cost.

How did you get into entrepreneurship?

Was born with the drive to succeed as an entrepreneur and to start and create new ventures. It's fun not work for me. I started out and am still a digital marketing entrepreneur. After having great success in the ORM space I've looked at non-digital opportunities to expand into other ventures and happened to team up with a seasoned developer who was looking for assistance in starting and growing a new residential development endeavor. We're now implementing new digital strategies and can't build homes fast enough to keep up with demand here in Fort Lauderdale.

Why do you do what you do?

It's a combination of loving the thrill of building new things and helping them grow. Starting and growing new businesses is like raising a child where you work so hard to see it grow up and succeed based on your advice, ideals, and guidance. Starting and growing a business has a lot of the same principles and that's a motivating factor that's intrinsic.

What tools, resources or books have you used to start and/or grow your business?

I am a member of the Indie Hackers community and it's a great network to discuss growth hacking, marketing ideas, and to hear about others' successes as well as their struggles and failures. In the construction business, you can't take any shortcuts and it's a slow-building process so it's been a great learning experience changing gears and building something tangible at a slower pace.

Why did you choose to locate your business in Florida?

Florida is an excellent business-friendly climate. I went to college for my undergraduate degree here and after traveling to the west coast settled down permanently here in 2017. For real estate construction, it's a great market and my timing looks to be fortuitous.

What advice do you have for other entrepreneurs?

Don't be afraid to fail. You'll learn and use that experience to succeed moving forward. Just don't regress.

How can other entrepreneurs help you?

Just networking and staying in touch to discuss what is working well for them and what is not. Mentoring others is a great way to learn and how the community you care.
