Embrace Less Waste LLC

What is your company description and what makes your company unique?

Embrace Less Waste brings eco-friendly products and education to families in a user-friendly experience. What makes us unique is the way we sell and the wholesalers we work with. Most of our wholesalers are US-based and all of our wholesalers have an incredible story behind why they created their products. Each wholesaler donates to charity, has transparency in their organization, and all of this information will be available to our customers with each product. We will be donating to organizations that are making the world a better place as well as volunteering our time.

How did you get into entrepreneurship?

I have always been entrepreneurial, when I was 7 I was selling flowers to neighbors, then babysitting, opened a pet sitting service, and eventually moved on to bigger things. I enjoy the creativity, flexibility, challenges, and freedom of being self-employed.

Why do you do what you do?

I have 3 children and am passionate about making the world better for them and for future generations. I believe that Embrace Less Waste can make the world better.

What tools, resources or books have you used to start and/or grow your business?

I have an MBA which provided a good foundation and I have been running another company for many years. This is my first e-commerce company so I am learning a lot of new things. I have joined Pasco County SMARTstart, attended round-tables, listened to countless podcasts and e-books, and am currently attending CoStarters. In reality, the research never ends.

Why did you choose to locate your business in Florida?

Florida is our home.

What advice do you have for other entrepreneurs?

Surround yourself with positive people that will give honest advice and don't hesitate to ask for help. Starting a new venture is tough and you will need a strong foundation. Grit and determination are essential.

How can other entrepreneurs help you?

It's always great talking with other entrepreneurs to learn what has worked for them and what hasn't. Being surrounded by a great network is very important.
