Since 1964, the Florida Economic Development Council has promoted economic development throughout the state of Florida. Lake-Sumter State College Business Opportunity Center

The mission of the Business Opportunity Centers (BOC) is to provide comprehensive business assistance to the tenants of the LSCC Business Incubator Program and to all other businesses in Lake County via the Small Business Development Center. The goal of the Business Incubation Program (BIP) is to provide a nurturing, professional environment for companies in their early stages of development to grow, graduate and prosper.

Mid-Florida SCORE

We provide free and confidential counseling with experienced professionals from varied business and educational backgrounds. The mentoring continues as long as needed and multiple counselors may participate. Counseling is done face-to-face or using the internet. We also provide a series of seminars and workshops designed to explain and educate entrepreneurs on how to get started, grow or revitalize their business. Attendees learn management skills, how to put together a business plan and gain knowledge about marketing, finance, funding and more.

Prospera

We specialize in providing bilingual assistance to Hispanic entrepreneurs trying to establish or expand their business. We offer a variety of services especially designed for Hispanic small business owners, to empower them through training, consulting, grants and access to capital.
