Tom Polk, owner of Bunnell Feed & Supply, has successfully shepherded his business through Flagler County’s transformation from an agricultural economy to the burgeoning residential county it is today. Tom Polk attributes the company’s 30 year success in divergent economic conditions to customer loyalty.
Polk has also been responsive to the area’s changing demographics. He has adapted his inventory accordingly which is the second prong contributing to the company’s longevity.
Polk’s advice to those looking to open their own business is approach competition as a positive challenge. “Competition is a time for you to take a good look at your operation and the changing times,” he explained. “Competition makes you a better business person. It will make you dot your I’s and cross your T's to make sure you are doing things right.”
